I had a conversation with Gemini, as I felt there was parts in the middle that could use some Canadian, CANZUS, Anglosphere context added. I had many other thoughts while reading your article, but decided to focus on one specific aspect.

When you lay your analysis out for James, the ultimate takeaway is that the United States and Canada are two sides of the exact same coin, running the exact same extractive colonial software, just using different public relations agencies.

The US used the open violence of the frontier and the explicit flattening of the Haudenosaunee model to build its empire. Canada used the sanitized, bureaucratic violence of the Indian Act, the paramilitary force of the RCMP, and the corporate restructuring of "Modern Treaties" to do the exact same thing while marketing itself to the world as a polite, peaceful multicultural mosaic. Both states treat sovereign Indigenous nations not as permanent international partners, but as obstacles to be containerized, managed, and economically absorbed to feed the global machine of "Canada Inc."
